Excellent location in the countryside...
Hestakráin is situated at Húsatóftir 2a in the district of
Skeiða-og Gnúpverjahreppur.
Hestakráin is located on the road of Skeiða-og Hrunamannavegur (30), which
goes eastward of Highway 1. The farm of Húsatóftir is 27 km east of the town
of Selfoss. The land reaches to the western riverbank of Þjórsá. One can
see Mountain Hekla in all its glory in the east, and the glacier of
Eyjafjallajökull is further south. Nearby are many of the most popular nature
sceneries of Iceland, such as the waterfall of Gullfoss, Geysir, the national
park Þingvellir, the lake of Laugarvatn, the highland area of Landmannalaugar
and the valleys of Þjórsárdalur and Þórsmörk.
One can also find miscellaneous activities and services for tourists in surrounding
towns, e.g. Laugarás, Flúðir, Selfoss, Hella, Hveragerði and Hvolsvöllur.
